NAFSA PRESENTS IEF EXCELLENCE AWARD

IEF is the proud recipient of a 2002 Excellence Award from NAFSA: Association of International Educators (NAFSA). The distinguished award was presented in recognition of IEF's American Education Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

Four overseas educational advising centers were recognized by NAFSA. These included:

• IEF Educational Foundation - Taipei, Taiwan

• Fulbright Educational Advising Center - Budapest, Hungary

• IAES-USEFI Satellite Center - Gujurat, India

• US Educational Advising Services - Lilongwe, Malawi

The purpose of the annual award is "to recognize and reward outstanding and innovative initiatives of overseas educational advising centers," according to NAFSA organizers. The event planners also hope to demonstrate the important role these centers play in the field of international educational exchange. The NAFSA awards are sponsored by Educational Testing Service.

IEF's American Education Center is approved by the US State Department as an official Overseas Advising Center. Professional counselors guide students interested in studying in the United States. In addition to a comprehensive research library, the fully equipped center also serves as an "office away from the office" for US school representatives meeting with potential students.
