AIEF Supports International Education
On February 3, AIEF issue an official letter to Secretary Rice on her attention to the international student visa. In a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, AIEF's Washington
Office Director Stephen Smith expressed his gratitude for her attention to the issue of international student visas. Stressing the critical need to
continue and expand international educational exchanges, Smith noted the potential benefits of such exchanges to America's long-term academic,
economic, and foreign policy interests. Smith also cited AIEF's commitment and challenges as an organization on the front lines of promoting U.S.
education internationally.
