AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION
A Decade of Achievements 1992-2003
For nearly a decade, American
international Education Foundation (AIEF) has dedicated itself to bridging the information gap between international students and U.S. educational institutions. The non-profit foundation has promoted U.S. higher education tirelessly around the world and has helped to increase the system's accessibility to students in other countries, particularly in Taiwan and China. Following are a few highlights from the last ten years.
American Education Fairs - Taiwan

1992 ~ 1994 The first annual American Education Fair was held at the Taipei Institute of Technology, with 25 participating schools. The purpose: Help Taiwanese learn about studying in the United States, by bringing together prospective students, parents and counselors with American school representatives. Participating schools increased to 40 in 1994.

1996 ~ 2000 - By this time, two American Education Fairs were conducted in spring and fall, both at Taipei and Kaohsiung. The fairs were co-sponsored by American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), which functions as an U.S. Embassy, and U.S. Department of Commerce. Nearly 100 schools participated.

2001 - The spring fair, co-sponsored with AIT, featured more than 70 participants. The event remains the premier recruiting fair in Taiwan after nearly a decade of service.
American Education Fairs - China

1999 - AIEF's first venture into China. Participated in the International Education Exhibition in Beijing and Shanghai.

2000 ~ 2001 - AIEF began hosting annual American Education Fairs spring and fall at Beijing and Shanghai. ShenZhen, in southern China, was added as a new location.
