Press Materials

Internet Services

  • 1994 - AIEF developed a comprehensive search engine of U.S. colleges and universities, which featured valuable admission requirements and other information for international students. .

  • 1995 - To further assist students, AIEF established a service center in Taipei to allow them to use this computerized college directory at no charge. 

  • 1997 - A web site was created in California, which featured the largest database on U.S. colleges/universities available with a free search function.

  • 2000 - Regional web sites for Taiwan and China were established that provided a comprehensive search engine for school searches, scholarship information, summer programs, etc.

  • 2001 - Established a regional web site in Seoul, Korea. 

Publications

  • American College Directory - First published in 1994 and updated annually, this 532-page reference guide features information on U.S. colleges and universities, and compares various educational systems and departments.

  • Short Term Professional Training in US - Published in 1999 and updated annually, this guide addresses short-term professional training courses and their application procedures at the nation's 25 top ranking schools. 

  • Bi-lingual (English/Chinese) Special Edition on US Education - As of 1995, AIEF has published a free newspaper distributed at the American Education Fairs, which featured comprehensive information on the U.S. education system. 

Scholarships

  • Since 1996, AIEF has presented scholarships each year in June to eligible students studying at U.S. graduate schools, 4-year colleges, universities, and community colleges. More than 30 students have received scholarships since then. 

Training

  • From 1996 to the present, AIEF has either sponsored or co - sponsored with prominent schools the following training courses: Training for English Teachers in Taiwan; Professional Training on Hotel and Restaurant Management; Training of student counselors, etc.

  • AIEF has also established Inter - Collegiate Cooperation between more than 20 schools in U.S. and Taiwan or China. In addition, AIEF has arranged seminars for Chinese and Taiwanese students and faculty with professors from Columbia University, John Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Maryland-College Park and University of Michigan.

Student Service Centers

  • 1995 - American College Information Center (ACIC) established in Taipei, Taiwan.

  • 1996 - AIEF's Washington DC office established to handle liaison with government officials, Congress and educational institutions. 

  • 1999 - American College Information Center (ACIC) established in Shanghai.
