AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION (AIEF)- Fact Sheet
Overview
American International Education Foundation
(AIEF) is dedicated to bridging the information
gap between international students and U.S. educational institutions.
Founded in 1992, AIEF is supported in part by corporate sponsors, U.S. educational institutions and private donors.
AIEF resources are designed to help students around the world better
understand and experience the U.S. educational system and culture. Its services have helped thousands of students from more than 60 countries.
It is located in Los Angeles and has an office in Washington, D.C.
Mission
The mission of AIEF is to promote U.S. higher education internationally
and increase its accessibility to students worldwide, because it believes:

This opportunity allows foreign students to learn first-hand about U.S. democratic values, governmental structure and economic system;

This international exchange encourages increased understanding
between the U.S. and other countries - a prerequisite for world peace
and prosperity.
Services
Educational Fairs: AIEF has organized more than 30 American Education
Fairs in China and Taiwan endorsed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Fulbright Foundation and U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Since 2001,
AIEF has hosted fairs in Korea. These fairs have become a model for other international student events, and have brought hundreds of different U.S. colleges and universities together with tens of thousands of potential students.
American College Information Centers (ACICs):
To help Chinese and Taiwanese students learn more about the U.S. educational systems,
AIEF
founded ACICs in China and Taiwan. These popular centers feature the
most current catalogs, application materials and videotapes about U.S.
colleges and universities.
Executive Training Programs: AIEF, in conjunction with several American
colleges and universities, provides a series of executive training programs that lead to a certificate, a diploma or an advance degree.
Summer Camps: AIEF has been authorized by the Hugh O' Brian
Youth Leadership (HOBY) to organize youth teams from various
Asian countries for its annual World Leadership Congress in the U.S. In addition,
AIEF has developed U.S. summer camp programs for Asian junior and high school students. For U.S. students, the foundation has awarded scholarships to youth leadership and exchange programs in Asia.
American College Directories:
Each year, AIEF publishes a Chinese-language American College Directory used in libraries and schools in China and Taiwan.
Internet Support: AIEF has provided guidance and content to the internationally popular site - www.uscampus.com - which is visited by students in 60+ nations. There is detailed information about the U.S. educational system in three languages: English, Chinese and Korean. Highlights include a search engine with more than 4,000 U.S. colleges, universities, language schools, boarding schools and executive training programs. The site links to these educational institutions, admission testing organizations and other resources.
Orientation Programs: AIEF provides a number of additional services
from student counseling sessions to orientation training and lifestyle adjustment materials.
