AIEF’s Mission Statement
As part of its mission of promoting U.S. education internationally, the American International Education Foundation (AIEF) sponsors and organizes activities to support professional development opportunities for teachers of English to speakers of other languages. Over the past four years, AIEF has held teacher training programs through which many teachers and interns from American educational institutions have benefited from the chance to travel to abroad to share their expertise and to grow professionally.
With guidance from the American Language Teacher Training Council (ALTTC), AIEF encourages cooperation between American educational institutions and foreign institutions on teacher placement and training, raising teachers’ standards, and developing students’ English language skills. In acknowledgement of the fact that English proficiency tests and English teaching methods are changing, AIEF has allocated resources to produce videos and other instructional materials designed to enhance students’ English language proficiency.
AIEF is committed to the task of meeting the challenges of the future by serving as a bridge between American language educators and teachers of English outside the United States. Accordingly, we welcome opportunities to work with educational institutions, organizations, businesses, and other interested entities.
