A grant in the amount of US $2,000 was awarded in October to the IEF Education Foundation for its American Life Adjustment Program through the Citigroup Foundation's 2003 Citibank Branch Program. Funding for the Citigroup Foundation is derived from gifts made to it by Citigroup businesses, including Citibank, Smith Barney, Travelers Life and Annuity, Primerica, Banamex and CitiFinancial. IEF's American Life Adjustment Program provides practical orientations for international students on various topics related to studying and living in the USA. The orientations are offered via the web, through overseas seminars, and at sites in the United States. In presenting the award to IEF, Citigroup's grants manager Trang Tran stated: "The Citigroup Foundation values the important work your organization is doing and is pleased to be able to partner with you in these efforts."
