A signing ceremony to formally establish ETTV's Scholarship Program with the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communications was held at 4:00 PM on November 20th on the USC campus. Following the ceremony, ETTV hosted a dinner reception at the Westin - Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
Created to encourage promising students from Taiwan to follow a career path in mass communications, the purpose of the ETTV Scholarship Program is to help to cultivate future professionals who will be able to use their expertise gained at USC to develop quality programming for Asian, American, and international communities. Scholarship support from ETTV, one of the fastest-growing television networks in Taiwan, will amount to USD $500,000 for a five-year period.
The IEF Education Foundation is responsible for promoting the scholarship program in Taiwan, interviewing and screening prospective candidates, and assisting in the final selection of scholarship recipients.
As coordinator of the ETTV Scholarship Program, the IEF Education Foundation will also facilitate research grants and internship opportunities for faculty members and students of the Annenberg School at ETTV's operational centers in Taiwan and the United States.
IEF is pleased and honored to be able to assist in the development of this model scholarship program.
