Education Fairs

AIEF's American Education Fairs are some of the most respected student recruitment fairs in Asia. These fairs take place in three of the world's largest markets for international students in the United States - China (#2), Korea (#3) and Taiwan (#5).

Since 1992, we have hosted student fairs semi-annually in Taiwan. These are now considered the region's premier events. In spring 2000, we launched China's first and largest student recruitment fair supported by both the Chinese and U.S. governments. More than 23,000 attended this groundbreaking event. AIEF continues to host well-respected fairs in the Chinese market. Due to this success, we were asked to launch a student recruitment fair in Korea, beginning fall 2001.

AIEF's student recruitment fairs have been supported by the U.S. State Department, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Fulbright Foundation, China's Ministry of Education and the American Institute in Taiwan, which functions as an embassy.

AIEF Services Bring You Results

Enjoy a number of benefits by participating in these fairs:

Meet Thousands of Students: AIEF's proven knowledge of local markets - and our active pre-fair marketing campaigns - ensure an excellent turnout from well-qualified student candidates. Weeks prior to the event, a comprehensive publicity campaign is conducted.

  • Posters and flyers are distributed to hundreds of schools, universities and libraries throughout China, Taiwan and Korea.
  • Events are publicized on www.UScampus.com, which reaches a high proportion of international students.
  • Local news coverage of the event is extensive, both on broadcast and print media.
  • Virtual booth page at American Education Fair's CyberFair web site.
    • Add lasting exposure of your school to both Fair participants and meet tens of thousands of international students.
    • Let students know your school is coming to upcoming Fairs.
    • List comprehensive information about your school - with a convenient link to your school's own web site.
    • Extend the exposure of your school beyond the time and space of the traditional "brick and mortar" Fair.
    • AIEF's Student Tracking System provides each participating school with a visitor's database so that they may follow up with students after the fairs.

Your well-equipped fair booth will also include your own individual interpreter. This will help prevent language difficulties between you, students and parents. Afterwards, you may meet strong candidates for one-on-one meetings at an Overseas Student Advising Center.

Meet Local Officials: During our fairs, you'll have the chance to meet local educators, government policy makers, school representatives and U.S. Embassy staff. These briefing sessions allow you to:

  • Ask questions about visas, cultural matters and other issues
  • Gain "insider's tips" about recruiting in that market
  • Introduce your academic institution personally to key decision makers

What You'll Receive

All American Education Fair participants receive:

  • Individual recruitment booth
  • Personal interpreter throughout event
  • Listing in Fair Guide and in all marketing support materials
  • "Get-Together" event for attendees
  • Briefing session with U.S. and local government officials
