Schedule

 

Day 1-2:  Hangzhou

 

Meet and greet Chinese teachers and students

Engage in fun team-building and get-to-know you activities while you adjust to your new time zone.

Actvities may include: rock climbing, archery, grass-skiing, calligraphy and more!   

 

Day 3:  Hangzhou Children’s

Welfare Homes

 

Learn about Down’s Syndrome

Prepare an interesting English lesson or craft project and play engaging games with children with Down’s Syndrome

Make time for sharing about America and listen to their experiences of growing up in China

Bring gifts to them and make time for taking photos

      

Day 4: Wuzhen

 

Visit the Wuzhen Water Market, Ancient Bed Museum, Shadow Play Theatre, and Wedding Museum

Wuzhen is a 1300-year-old water town on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is a national scenic area and one of China’s top ten historical and cultural towns. In 2001, Wuzhen was named as a candidate for UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage List. In 2009, Wuzhen was named as the first PATA eco-tourism destination in Mainland China. We will spend time today enjoying it’s history and beauty!

 

Day 5:  Hengdian

 

Hengdian World Studios is a film studio located in Hengdian, a Chinese town in

the city of Dongyang, Jinhua. It is the largest film studio in the world! Sometimes

called “Chinahood”.

 

Today we will visit Emperor Qin Palace. This palace was built in the Early Chinese Dynasty style in the Qin and Han periods (about 350 B.C. ). 

 

Day 6:  Pujiang

 

Today we will visit some masters of handcraft, such as bamboo weavers, and try making a piece ourselves.

Day 7:  Hangzhou

 

The last day of this portion of the trip will be spent learning to cook Chinese food!  We will try making dumplings or steamed buns. Later, we’ll have a party with teachers and translators with some parting words and exchanging of gifts. This time will also include a chance for you to dust off your skills at our talent show! 

 

Day 8-10: Shanghai

 

Today begins our three day tour of Shanghai! Shanghai is located on China’s central coast and is the biggest city in China. We will spend our days with our tour company exploring different areas of Shanghai and taking in the cultural sights, sounds, and foods. Get excited to see areas of cultural significance and explore some of the modern sites in this bustling mega-city with a population of over 24 million people!

 

 

Day 10: Hangzhou

 

Return to Hangzhou to fly home.
